They will have to know what they're interested in studying and what college they would like to attend and it has to be accredited. You fill out a profile about your interests, planned major/minors, extracurriculars, high school information (GPA, extracurriculars), year planning on entering and graduation from college. And then fastweb pulls up scholarships that are somewhat tailored to that student's profile. You get emails and update when new scholarships are added or when applications are almost due.

To help your child prepare for the tests, HSLDA offers a choice of either the SAT or ACT test prep CD for $13.84 for a one-year renewable license made possible by eKnowledge through a grant from the NFL Football Players Association. 10 sessions,--2 hours long, for 5 weeks, May 5-June 4, 2009 10a-12p on Tues and Thurs. (SAT prep continues for 1/2 longer until 12:30p), FREE group tutoring 1/2 hour before class begins
The cost for ACT-prep alone is $450 and for ACT/SAT-prep is $560. Homeschooling families receive an automatic discount of $200, no other discounts will be applied. The adjusted costs are $250 for ACT-prep and $360 for ACT/SAT-prep.

Each class covers the format of each section of the test as well as the content matter that the students are expected to understand and apply. The course is also completely integrated with the essential study skills necessary to perform well not only on these tests but in future schooling. Each class consists of a balanced schedule of interactive lecture, group work, and individual testing that simulates the actual test environment with question & answer time to follow. Students are expected to complete one practice test for homework after each session and report their scores at the following class.

taught by Dave Laib of Student Formation,
$15 additional fee for required binder for each student
$40 per student, $65 for 2 students from the same family
This course will cover almost every aspect of how to be an outstanding
student. Through interactive lecture, small group work, and individual
study, each student will leave the course with stronger skills in reading
speed and comprehension, staying organized and time management, class note
taking and text marking, studying for tests, and actual test taking. The
course will also cover the general expectations for college-level writing
and each student will write an essay that will be graded and returned with
personalized feedback. In addition, students will fill out inventories
designed to help them discover their individual learning styles and
studying preferences.
