Heritage Home School Workshops is honored to announce the addition of a track for students with unique physiological and neuropsychological needs.
Starting in September of 2008, the special education track will take place on Thursdays from 8:00-12:00 for grades preK-12. We will provide classes in core subjects like reading, writing and math that will be taught in state of the art, researched-based, multi-sensory formats. Along with core subjects, we will have many electives that will be presented at a manageable level. There will also be some therapeutic classes to enhance sensory integration and social-emotional cognition skills. There will also be an on-site resource center for new families that need information on their child's diagnosis and their prospective educational path.

Educational Therapy is a supplementary program designed to help students with learning difficulties who have experienced frustration and/or failure in school. The program implements intervention techniques in two 80 minute, one-on-one, educational sessions per week. The focus of the intense, individual therapy sessions is on continual stimulation and development of the deficit areas of perception, basic skills, and critical thinking skills. It was once believed that learning disabled students had to simply learn to cope with their disabilities for a lifetime. Evidence now shows that in many cases, learning disabilities can be overcome with Educational Therapy intervention.
