Attention high school age baseball players. There will be a homeschool high school baseball team this Spring for young men, ages 14-18. This is a program for experienced baseball players - not for beginners. We are attempting to schedule games against public school JV teams, smaller Christian schools and other homeschool teams (if any can be located). We presently have 11 players on our roster and have room for a few more. The team will be based out of the Crete-Monee area. Indoor practices will begin in February at the Diamond Sports Academy in Mokena (2xs per week). Once the weather breaks, the team will practice 3-4 times per week. On the Square Sports Academy (The entrance to the gym is on the west side of Main Street just a few doors north of 231 and 1 block west. The street name is actually West Street that you turn off of 231) The basketball will be at the gym on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm The cost will remain at $50 even though the rent has gone up. The break down is $5 x 10 sessions = $50. I collect the money upfront. This way, I can just pay the rent when it is due and not have to collect from everyone. The money will be collected the first day. Our first day will be Wednesday, January 16 and will go every Wednesday until March 19. The Lord willing. Lori Leo |

Dance Alive! Dance Studio 11 W. Division St. I have several classes on the schedule that may be of interest to homeshool families including a few toddler dance classes which include pre-ballet and a music and movement class. I also offer ballet, tap and tumbling for ages 3-6 during the early afternoon hours on Wednesday and mornings on Thursdays. I would be happy to open other classes for older children during these hours with a class of 4 or 5 students. |

We offer tumbling and aerobics for 4 weeks at $7.00 per class and $14.00 for both. My name is Christy Wronkowicz and I am the new skating director at Midwest Training and Ice Center in Dyer, Indiana. I am very interested in starting a homeschool program here at the rink, as we had a well attended homeschool program at some of the rinks I taught prior to here. This special daytime ice skating class is designed to enhance the curriculum of homeschoolers ages 6+. Classes take place during our mid-day public skate and include a 45 minute lesson and 45 minutes of practice time. Lessons will be grouped by age/skill level and will focus on fundamentals of learning how to ice skate (physical fitness) supplemented with learning that extends outside the traditional classroom (basic laws of physics, movement, rhythm, and music). To join the ski club, it's $12 for students and $10 for adults. This gives you a discount on lift tickets and rental of almost 1/2 off. This card allows you to ski Mon-Fri from 10 am to 10:30 pm and weekends and holidays (includes Dec 22 to Jan 2, Jan 15 and Feb 19) from 3 pm to 10:30 pm. The rates are about half price the cost of a regular lift ticket price. Considering that rental of equipment is very cheap and a free lesson is included, if you request one in advance, this is a great deal. Wilmot makes its' own snow so they are open most days even if we don't have snow in our yards! I also made the earlybird reservation deadline which means during one of our skiing days, our group will receive free pizza, amount determined by the number attending that day. I am still awaiting details on that and will let you know more about that. In order for this work, though, I need to be able to RSVP to Wilmot the day before with accurate numbers of who is attending and what kind of equipment will be rented. If you RSVP and we end up with too few people, I will email those who RSVP'd back and let you know. Conversely, if I don't reach our minimum number of RSVP's for the group discount, I will cancel for the day and anyone who shows up will be charged their regular rates. I have selected two dates to begin with and will plan to offer both times on a weekly basis, assuming we meet our minimum number each week. 5th-8th grade boys in Highland, IN Calvary Christian School in Highland is inviting all 5th - 8th and 9th -12th grade homeschool boys to join them for soccer. You must have a valid physical form and your own practice equipment (shorts, t-shirt, shin guards, soccer cleats, soccer socks, water bottle, and a ball). Practices will begin August 13th.
